ThermaSol Aalto 101: Informative Manual

The ThermaSol Aalto is an 87-inch square indoor corner sauna, distinguished by its textured wall panels and semi-panoramic glass front. As the largest of ThermaSol’s indoor cabins, it offers the most detailed interior craftsmanship within the range.

1. Technical Specifications

Interior Geometry:

Lower Bench Height: 19.3 inches

Upper Bench Height: 37 inches

Backrest Height: 44.9 inches

Vent Diameter: 4.3 inches

Door Handle Position: 41.3 inches

2. Site Requirements & Preparation

Before ordering, ensure the installation site meets the following critical criteria:

Ceiling Height: Minimum of 8 feet.

Wall Clearance: At least 2 inches of space between the cabin and surrounding walls.

Flooring: Must be level and water-resistant (e.g., concrete, ceramic tile, vinyl, or laminate). The cabin stands directly on the existing floor.

Ventilation: The sauna exhausts steam through a 4.3-inch vent. The room must have adequate moisture extraction (such as a bathroom fan) to prevent long-term humidity issues.

Access Route: Ensure all pre-assembled panels can fit through doorways and around tight corners leading to the installation room.

3. Electrical & Heating

The Aalto includes a 9.0 kW Harvia Virta heater, which is more efficient indoors due to reduced heat loss compared to outdoor models.

Electrical Requirements :

Supply: 240V single-phase.

Current Draw: 37.5 Amps.

Conductor: Minimum 8 AWG copper wire rated to 90 °C.

Safety Note: The heater feed must not run through an RCD or GFI.

Operational Cost

Based on a typical usage cycle and a utility rate of $0.17/kWh, the estimated operating cost is approximately $0.92 per hour (approx. 5.4 kWh per session).

4. Installation Process

Installation typically requires two to four people. The unit is delivered as pre-assembled panels to facilitate indoor transport.

Structure: Panels are erected in the corner.

Fixtures: Benches and backrests are mounted at fixed heights.

Glass: The semi-panoramic glass front and door are installed last.

Wiring: Internal wiring is pre-run; however, a licensed electrician is required to connect the main power supply to the heater.

Pro-Tip: When ordering, specify the "door hand" (left or right). On corner cabins, this choice determines which direction the glass corner faces relative to your room layout.

Note: Delivery is curbside. Ensure equipment is available to offload the pallet upon arrival. Lead times are typically 4 to 8 weeks.
